Wednesday...Date with Jason!

On Wednesday, Jason had the day off, so my mom watched Ethan so we could go out. It was nice except that I had an injury that morning. Ethan likes to jump alot, and I tend to get in the way alot. I have never been seriously hurt, but on this particular day, he jumped at just the right angle and his head went right into my lip, which crashed into my teeth. It took about 2 seconds for my lip to swell. It looked like I had a marble under my lip. There is a pretty nasty bruise underneathe as well, but I am still debating whether or not to take a picture. It's been 4 days, but it still looks pretty bad, if you didn't see it on the first day. Anyways, I have a couple pictures at the bottom, mainly to show the swelling.

Jason and I ended up having a good day. We went to Disneyland and took out time enjoying big kid rides. I went on Tower of Terror with Jason....never again. If you don't like dropping fast in the dark, this ride is not for you.

We went on a couple of rides, but spent most of our time in the new House of the Future exhibit in Innoventions. Pretty cool. They also had a Segway( http://www.segway.com/ )you could test drive. It was pretty cool.

Afterwards, we went and got dinner at Outback. Yummy! It was a nice day. And very nice to have a big chunk of a day with just Jason. We both needed it. Thanks Mom!

Me getting taught by Carrie...she thought I was joking when I told her I was Cari too!
My fat lip...I was actually smiling... can you tell?
Inside of fat lip...it wasn't as purple as it got later....also it's very hard to eat with a fat lip.

Hope you enjoyed my little story!

Ethan's First Baseball Game!

My mom's friend Sylvia got tickets to a baseball game between the Sixty sixers and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. They are minor league teams. Anyway, she invited my mom, Ethan, and I so we went. Ethan was really good. I was so proud of him. He usually runs around everywhere, but he stayed pretty still. I took some pictures...not many, but enough.

Here is the stadium the game was at.
My mom and Ethan....this was the better of the 2 pictures I took!
Ethan eating raisins. He also kept stealing peanuts from the guy behind us. He was real nice about it though.
This is how close we were to home plate. Crazy huh!? (I took the picture through the protective netting.)
The reason Ethan was well behaved...the mascot Bernie. I don't know what kind of creature he is, but he looks like a cross between Elmo and a smurf. Weird. Ethan just wanted to pet him!
The Bernie guy gives away free stuff, and he gave Ethan a bag of cracker jacks and shook his hand. After that he was ready to head home. We had so much fun! Thank you Sylvia!

Airplane Park!

Jason and I wanted to take Ethan to a park and we were trying to figure out where to go. Jason's brother Aaron asked if we were going to Airplane Park, and Jason couldn't remember where that was. ( Airplane Park is not the actual name...just one that the locals gave it because there is a huge airplane there.) Anyways, we figured out where it was and went! Ethan had fun, but I think Jason had a better time reliving his old stomping grounds. Here are some pictures.

Ethan in the nose of the plane.
Daddy pushing Ethan....he's not a big fan of the swings actually

Going down the slide
I was trying to take an interesting shot....don't know if it worked out, but that IS Ethan back there. Let me know what you guys think.

Disneyland

We went and used our season pass to Disneyland last Monday. It was the first day back we could use them, since we have the cheap ones and there are alot of blackout dates for the summer. Anyways, we just wanted to get out of the house, so we went for a couple of hours. We road Casey Jr. Railroad and ran around in Toon Town for awhile. Then we road the train that goes around the park and went home. We had fun. Ethan wanted to see Dumbo though so I took these cute pictures of him.

Jason and I might go again on Wednesday to ride some grown-up rides but we aren't sure yet.

Adventure City!

Last Thursday, Jason had the day off, so we decided to go do something together. Jason found a little amusement park for kids under 12. All the rides were tailored for little kids, and Ethan was able to ride most of them, as long as he had a adult. So we went to check it out. Here are the pictures from our day.

Adventure City has a train that runs around the park and you can ride as often as you want. A big bonus for us, since our guy LOVES trains.

They had a life size Thomas display so we got a picture of Ethan with his favorite train!
On his first thrill ride....a bus that went up in the air in a circle. This was before it started....
....This was during. He didn't like it too much.
They had a great big mister tent where you could cool off. This is Jason and Ethan coming out. So cool.

On the carousel
Jason ducked out of the picture...he was saying "Cheese Mom!"
Ethan's first roller coaster. Jason and I both agreed that it bounced around way too much. Ethan said it was fun, but he also didn't want to go a second time.
Planes you could make go up and down. I ended up in the back of this one....I got dizzy. Go figure.

At the firehouse ride trying on fire gear.

Ethan driving a fire truck. Jason and I BARELY fit in the back of this thing.
Driving his truck
They had a petting area too. Ethan enjoyed petting all the animals.

Riding the train.
There were alot of cute hats you could try on (and buy). Here is my astronaut.

Best picture I could get of Jason and I

They had an area next to Thomas with a bunch of train tracks you could build and play with. Ethan was playing with this little kid and having a blast.
He had more fun here than the rest of the park, I think.
When you ride the train, it goes by a make shift town-scape, with murals of different businesses. One of my friend's has a daughter named Brielle and she also used to dance in high school and college. So I had to take this picture for her. I couldn't believe it.
As we were leaving, we walked past this little nature place, and they had these cages outside with different iguanas in them. They were so big! And of course Ethan loves lizards. No brainer, took a picture.

We had a great time and it was nice that he got to ride alot of the rides. Usually we just walk around places and watch, or ride the same rides over and over again. By the way, this place was in Anaheim.

I wish I had a girl....

....but for good reason. I got very frustrated today when I went shopping to get Ethan some new clothes for church. (His belly is starting to show...not good!) I had to go to 3 different stores before I found a place that ACTUALLY sold nice shirts. I got him a couple of polos and some button down plaid shirts, but I still don't feel like they are exactly appropriate for church. I went into Toys 'R Us because they have a clothing section, and under the big sign on the wall that said "Boys - 2-4T" they had GIRLS' clothes!!!! So sorry for this crazy vent, but it would be so easier to have a girl for this one instance.... I would know that no matter what store I walk into, there will be clothes. Poor Ethan just gets to wear the same 'ol thing. I can't wait until he's 4, then we can shop in the regular Boys' section.

Any advice on where to shop for church clothes for boys? Any advice would be appreciated!

(A bonus though, was the last place I went to, was having a sale. Woo Hoo!)

Date Night!

Monday, Jason and I got to go see a movie. His mom watched Ethan, and Sara came over to drop the girls off to play as well. So Ethan got a break from us, and we got much needed alone time. Sara also brought over Ethan's Halloween costume. She got it for 9 bucks from her mother-in-law. I don't know exactly how she gets them, but she does something in the clothing industry. Anyways, Sara has been dying to give it to Ethan for about a week and a half. I have pictures at the bottom.... it will be a long time 'til Halloween!

Thanks Sara for the costume! He asks to wear it everyday.... Halloween can't come soon enough!

A Visit from Dean!

On Sunday, my brother Dean and his family came over for dinner at my grandma's house. They were down visiting from Idaho, and it was a really short visit, but it was nice to see everyone. I don't have a whole lot of pictures because I wanted to visit more than anything, but my mom took some too. Here they are!

Ethan and Carter playing the piano together. They are only 9 months apart in age.
More piano. My mom took these 2 pictures. Cute. Thanks Mom!

While everyone was swimming, Ethan shouted, "Frog!" Well, there was a little frog jumping around in the water. My brother Dean finally caught it. This is the best picture. It's sitting on his thumb.

It was great to visit with my brother and his family and I can't wait to see them again. We only get to see them about once a year, so this was nice!
