Our favorite place

On Tuesday we went to Disneyland. We have been wanting to go since they re-did It's a Small World, and we were finally able to go. It was a good day too, because it was cold and there wern't many people there. We tried to go to Tom Sawyer's island, but it closed right before we got there. So we went to Tarzan's treehouse first. (I still think it's the Swiss Family Robinson's treehouse)

Ethan wouldn't get much closer than this.
Steering the pirate wheel

Ethan said he wanted to take our picture. AWWWW!

After Tarzan, we started making our way to Fantasy Land. Ethan and I decided to ride Dumbo before heading to a Small World.

They give you these feathers now so they know you got on the ride. We had a lot of fun!

Flying Dumbo!

After Dumbo, Ethan wanted to ride the Storybook boat ride, where you go into Monstro's mouth. That ride used to scare me....now I don't know why...

Wassup?

Going through Monstro's mouth

We finally got to It's a Small World. I got a good picture of us...except for Ethan doing CHEESE a little too much. :)

See?

After Small World, we went to ToonTown to see if Ethan was tall enough to ride Gadget's Coaster. He was, and he said it looked like fun, so we went. Jason hadn't been on it either. I have only been on it once. It was fun.

Right before the ride started. Ethan's first "real" rollercoaster.

After the coaster, I asked Ethan if the ride was fun. He said, "Yeah. I was crying." Go figure. We also went on the Roger Rabbit ride. I didn't get any pictures of that. Then we fooled around in the little gag area for awhile.

Naughty. They got locked up.

Strong man!

Me and Ethan on the fire truck. I wanted this picture, because I have a picture of me with my cousin, Amanda, on it when she was 4 or 5. So I just had to do it with my son.

Then we rode the train back to the front of the park and went home. It was a good day. We got to go on a lot of rides and I don't think we waited for more than 20 minutes for any one ride. Can't wait to go again!

It's Final...

I just wanted to let everyone know, that Jason's grandfather, Jack, passed away this evening. His wife, Carole, passed away earlier this week on Tuesday. They were both suffering from cancer. They shared 51 years of marriage together, and barely spent any time away from each other. They had 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, not counting in-laws.

Jack and Carole were the sweetest people I could ever hope to meet. They accepted me into their family as their granddaughter without a second thought. I called them grandma and pop. I was proud to have another set of grandparents. Jack and Carole have been a shining example of love and respect and what a marriage should entail. Jack's humor always made you smile, even if it was a little cheesy. Carole had a way of making everyone comfortable around her.

I know that they are in Heaven together now, embracing, knowing they couldn't even spend a week apart from one another. I know that we will seem them again one day, and that they are watching over us. I love you, Grandma and Pop!

Update

Well, I have posted some new blogs with different things we have been doing around here. We haven't really done that much, so that's why I haven't been blogging. But some things have happened.

Jason and I have been working on getting Ethan potty trained. I didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want to jinx it. He has been doing a great job. He will tell us when he needs to pee on the potty, but still hasn't pooped on it yet. So we have had a few of those accidents. But very few pee ones anymore. I can't tell you how nice it is not to change diapers anymore. And although the poop is still a mess, it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

We were invited to dinner by another couple at our new church Wednesday night. They have 3 kids, so it was kinda crazy, but it was the first time we've had dinner with anyone from church...ever. No one has invited us over before. It was very nice. So hopefully we will have some new friends soon!

My friend Katie had her baby last week. Kayla Lynn Roundy, 9 lbs 5oz and 21 in. long. Big baby, but cute as a button. Katie had a few complications but is home and better now.

Last week, Jason came home from work early because his chest was hurting and his right arm went numb. It has taken me a week to write about this, because it's been hard for me to deal with. My mom came and watched Ethan and I took Jason to the ER. They took chest X-rays, drew blood and ran an EKG. Everything came back normal, so they released him. They think that stress was the main cause. So the next day we went to his regular doctor. This was last Friday. He was feeling slightly dizzy that morning and just a little queasy. So the doctor referred him to a Neurologist, and to get an MRI of his brain, and to see a heart doctor. There is a possibility that he has migraines, and sometimes you can get them without the headache. Who knew? So we are trying to get those things scheduled. I will keep everyone updated when I know anything more. So far, Jason feels fine, so that's a good thing.

The last thing I want to write about is the death of Jason's grandmother, Carole on Tuesday. She has been suffering from cancer in her jaw. Her last surgery didn't go well, and she developed a staff infection. So it was just a matter of time. It was a relief to see her pass, because she was in so much pain, and she couldn't speak anymore. Jason's grandfather has cancer too, and we think he might follow Carole soon. It would be for the best, since he is starting to lose coherency now. It would be nice for them to be together again.

So that's what has been going on with us. A lot, but not at the same time. I will try to keep this better updated, but if we aren't doing anything, I can't really blog...LOL!
